Know Thailand Better to Enjoy More!

Loved around the world for its exotic traditions and jaw-dropping culture, Thailand ensures endless fun and excitement. The cultural horizons of this incredible nation is so vast that travellers often get puzzled with questions like what is the best way to mingle with locals or how should one behave in Thailand.

The first thing that every traveller planning luxury holidays to Thailand must learn is to smile. Thais give high regard to mannerism and good behaviour and treat the travellers with extreme care who behave pleasantly with them.

Apart from this, knowledge of some common Thai phrases like sà-wàt-dee (hello), Khorb koon (thank you) and Khor toat (sorry) can also let the travellers on luxury Thailand holidays win the hearts of the smiling locals.

No matter whether one is on luxury holidays to Phuket, Bangkok or Krabi, the religious beliefs are almost the same all over the country. Majority of the locals of Thailand are strict followers of Buddhism and do not accept any sort of disobedience against their religion. Thus travellers must wear decent clothes while visiting the religious spots and must avoid showing love and affection towards opposite sex in public.

Apart from these social conventions, travellers visiting Thailand must also know about the common transportation options. For instance, travellers on luxury Bangkok holidays may hop on local Tuk Tuks to travel around the city whereas for enjoying a private journey around the country, a taxi ride is the best pick.

How to Have Colourful Nights in Bangkok

Going away on Bangkok holidays is the perfect way to chill out for thousands of people around the world. One of the biggest highlights is the city’s legendary nightlife, which leaves one happily satisfied as well as yearning for more. Naughty times at Go-Go Bars, emptying wallets at the RCA, or indulging in the humbler pub scene at the Khao San Road – nights in Bangkok are full of entertainment.

Everyone knows that nights in Bangkok are livelier than the days. There are so many options for indulging that one gets spoilt for choice. The notorious Go-Go Bars, explosive discotheques, the calmer clubs, night markets, and exhilarating dinner cruises on the Chao Phraya River – nightlife in Bangkok suits every taste and mood and remains one of the biggest attractions of one’s Thailand holidays. Here I am with some little insight on what you can do to celebrate your existence during nights in Bangkok.

Go-Go Bar Scene

I know many wives and girlfriends would love to strangle me for saying this, but I can’t resist saying that Bangkok holidays are no fun without paying a visit to one of the many Go-Go bars in the city. Anyone claiming to have had a gala time in Bangkok would invariably have people enquiring about one’s visit and experience at these after dark entertainment haunts. Two of the most famed venues for this sinful delight are Soi Cowboy and Nana entertainment Plaza on the Sukhumwit Road. Patpong is yet another popular choice for a colourful night. Be forewarned though, if you are strait-laced, then you might just suffer a heart attack. Jokes aside, a little bit of naughty fun on one’s holidays to Bangkok is pretty harmless.

Hi-fi Clubbing

If you have been blessed with deep pockets, head to the RCA and splurge on the six huge clubs there. Heart thumping R&B, hip hop, and drum and bass are belted out at the bars here. This is one of the places where the cream of the society gathers. Most of the crowd is made up of rich tourists keen to take back some merry reminders of their holidays to Bangkok. Don’t forget to carry a copy of your passport as you may be denied entrance without it.

Affordable Highlights

Bangkok nightlife is not the exclusive privilege of the rich and the famous. Choices are unlimited for the huge army of visitors who manage to finance their Bangkok holidays only after painstakingly saving throughout the year. The Khao San Road is exactly one of those places where you need not pay a bomb for enjoying a pleasurable night during your Thailand holidays. This road is a pub crawler’s delight with rows and rows of easily affordable nightclubs in sight. Step inside one of these and set the dance floor on fire to the beats of hip hop, trance, house, rock, Thai music, drum and bass, or whatever is being dished out at the club. The booze is also pretty cheap in the bars here and you can hook up with plenty of fellow travellers in these areas. Music aficionados with a fetish for live musical performances can head to the nearby Langsuan. In case, after a drink or two you start missing the pubs back home, stake out the British style pubs of Sukhumvit Road.

Thailand - the Land of Smiles Captivates Completely. Here’s why

The land of smiles mesmerises visitors with its myriad charms. Bangkok’s glitzy shopping malls, Chiang Mai’s amazing temples, and Krabi’s virginal beaches – all compete to charm the traveller senseless. Wherever you go in Thailand, be prepared to be greeted with oodles of the legendary Thai hospitality. Being a melting pot of numerous colourful ethnicities Thailand also enchants with its eclectic blend of heady cultural experiences. Check into some Thailand hotel to discover all this and much more. Multi ethnic lip smacking culinary delights, especially sea food remains one of the major draws of this fabled land.
When it comes to beach side fun, there are scores of enticing options to choose from such as Patong Beach, Lamai Beach, Maya Bay, Hua Hin Beach, and Sairee Beach. Spend a day sunbathing or try out adrenalin pumping activities like snorkelling and scuba diving to name just two. Whether you are on a family holiday with the kids or have gone out seeking wicked pleasures with your cronies – be rest assured that Thailand will indulge every fancy. Those looking to book cheap hotels in Thailand can hit bargain deals especially in the wake of the political unrest that marred the country sometime back. Quite naturally, hotels are coming out with all kinds of deals to confirm more and more bookings.

Each and every city has its own unique character. If Bangkok remains flooded with humanity, Koh Samui makes for that ideal getaway to solitude. There is no escape from the magic of Thailand.

Holiday to Thailand where smiles never fade

The green carpet of peace on the land of smiles was ripped apart by long political unrest resulting from anti-government protests but peace has finally been restored to its place by the Government. Anger of the protesters razed to the ground Thailand’s biggest castle of consumerism, Central World Mall, in Bangkok.

An economy that depends heavily upon tourism resorted to peace sooner than could have been imagined; but there was no green signal for tourists in the strong bastions of Red Shirts, especially in Bangkok. In the past few weeks Thailand holiday seekers had avoided Bangkok during their holidays in Thailand.

Many of them tailored their holiday packages to Thailand in such a manner that their travel itinerary excluded Bangkok and any of the other 23 provinces where curfew had been clamped long after the situation was announced to be getting normal.

With the Government revoking the curfew from Bangkok and other tense provinces, 26 nations have reduced their advisory level of caution to 2 from level 5. Whatever be the case Thailand’s irresistible charm had drawn visitors to this mystical land in spite of the violence and bloodshed.

The majestic charm of great sun, sand and surf along with the salubrious weather, bikini clad women, erotic massages and exotic cuisines are irresistible temptations for the tourists craving for salvation from the monotonous life of their cold hometowns.

Holidaying in Thailand is at anytime value for money. To re-gain what it had lost during the unrest, the prices of holiday packages are likely to be further reduced. With the Government’s support, the country is able to provide cheap holidays in Thailand at incredibly low prices, so hurry up to get the best deals.

Experience the thrill of Yasothon Bun Bangfai on your holidays to Thailand

If the sight of colorful rockets piercing through the sky exhilarates you, then a trip to the ‘Thailand Rocket Festival’ is a must. Celebrated with much fervour and enthusiasm by the people of Yasothon community in North-Eastern Thailand, the latest edition of the Rocket Festival is slated to be held in the ‘Phaya Thaen Park’ between 5th to 9th May 2010.

Known in Thailand as ‘Yasothon Bun Bang Fai’, the festival is a unique way which the Thai people have adopted to please the rain god ‘Vassakan’ who loved to be worshipped with fire. Since the rockets produce fire and reach high in the sky, they believe that the rain god would be delighted with such fireworks and bless them with abundant rainfall to nurture their newly planted crops.

The festival begins with traditional Thai dishes being served to all and sundry on the first day of the festival. The second day of the carnival is the ‘Procession Day’ where sophisticated hand-made rockets are mounted on traditional carts & displayed in a parade. On the third day numerous competitions are held to judge the team whose rockets have performed well in the sky. Losing teams whose rockets do not perform well have to jump in the mud as part of an old Thai tradition. Played with great sporting spirit the festival offers wholesome entertainment for all three days and plays an important role in cultural assimilation of all segments of the Thai society.

If you want to grab a piece of the action then ask your travel agent to plan your next holidays to Thailand to coincide with this festival so that you and your family are treated to some sky-rocketing adventure in Thailand next year.
